PERSONALITY

• Soleril is generally charming and affectionate. A friendly and optimistic ruler who does not shirk from his duties, he tries to make time for all of his subjects, though sometimes his kindness is taken advantage of. In public, he always tries to be diplomatic in his speech, but if the situation calls for it, he will not back down from a challenge. In this, he can be called stubborn. Among the people he trusts, he is known to sometimes make witty and sarcastic commentary on current events.
• Soleril's protective side comes through when he deals with threats to his kingdom and the people he loves. He strongly believes in his people and that a king's power must be used to protect them.
• When Soleril is angry, he does not scream or yell. Instead, he shuts down, turns absolutely cold and ignores everything around him. While he is not quick to get angry (being rather laidback), he can hold a grudge for a long time. His anger takes its own time to dispel and few people can get him out of this state, though Kalti is one of them.

HISTORY

• Soleril was born 2nd cousin to the then King of Pandemonia, Zaine, and into a family of five children. Despite being of "royal" birth, his family was not particularly influential in court, and so he and his siblings grew up playing with the children on the streets outside the palace. One day at noon, he came across a starving orphan named Kalti, he could not help but share his lunch with him. The two became fast friends and it became normal for Soleril to show up in the kitchens with a picnic basket on a daily basis. In return, Kalti showed him all the best spots in the city as well as how to do some minor pickpocketing and lockpicking. This practice was soon stopped by a tattle-tale servant who followed Soleril out one day, and Soleril's parents quickly apprenticed him to one of the many lords in the palace as a page-boy. He was kept constantly busy at those tasks though he continued to try to meet with Kalti when he had free time.
• One night as the two sat talking on the rooftops of one of the many rundown buildings in the slums, they heard a duo of pained cries and alarms going off the palace. Before they could move, however, the glowing figures of the legendary Pokemon Zekrom and Reshiram burst from the palace and fly into the sky. The two Pokemon were badly injured and coincidentally fell only a few alleys away from where Soleril and Kalti sat. Concerned, the two boys went to investigate and somehow became dually bonded to the mourning creatures.
• The entire country was in an uproar over the event and Soleril soon found himself crowned the King of Pandemonia, after the assassination of King Zaine and Queen Reina. While Soleril had never been close to Zaine, he had seen him from afar and admired his calm, honest way of handling the kingdom's affairs and so his death gave him much sorrow.
• He was at first an extremely reluctant ruler, having not been raised to the post. However, after he met Vireis, the adopted son of the previous monarchs and saw his grief, he could not help but try his best to meet the expectations of the prince.
