Previously, scholars had discovered an ancient journal hidden in one of the mass graves underneath the ruins of a temple of Dyeus-Gaea, an old cult formed thousands of years ago, whose practices had long been kept completely secret. However, the worship had suddenly and mysteriously ended a few hundred years ago, leaving very little trace of itself behind. Curious historians escavated one of the ancient sites in search of knowledge and were rewarded with a journal describing the practices of the cult amongst other artifacts.
Symbolic artwork of many strange and mystical rituals could be found along the temple walls. One such image depicted a youth clasping an as-of-yet unidentified object, likely a plant of some sort.
Unbeknownst to the archaelogists, a similar image appears in the sketches of vir Noen, a well known stone carver from the age of the temple's decline. Shown above is one such piece from his notebooks.

Kaeddyn stood unmoving in the grass of one of the many quads at the Academy of Heroes despite the steady flow and ebb of the students around him. He held his arm stiffly, fingers frozen around the "gift" that had been pressed into his palm. The moment his hand had curled around it, images had flashed through his head in a whirlwind slideshow, too fast to decipher. He was left only with the strongest feeling of unease.
No matter how hard he tried, he could not recall ever seeing the girl on campus. The Academy had a large body of students, but Kaeddyn (and his pranks) had brought him in contact with many of them. And he rarely forgot interesting people.
His head snapped up and he looked around to see if anyone had noticed the object in his hand. Satisfied that most of the students were hurrying to their next class, he tucked it into his sash, pressing it down until it was completely hidden. Unsettled for the first time in many years, he struggled for calm. This is not unique. I wasn't the first "she" gifted. It was time to make a small trip outside the school grounds.
One question remained in his mind as he walked away - How?

I really enjoy seeing story stuff for Kaeddyn. He's such an interesting character. Your drawing is very lovely as well. This may sound somewhat silly, but his hair is very pretty. XD
